    Track Passes

Charging arrangements have now been agreed with Stevenage Leisure, and Track Passes are available to both junior and senior members at very reasonable costs: Junior - £27.50 and Senior - £55.  Track Passes must be purchased from Biggleswade AC and not from Stevenage Leisure.  Please talk to any of the coaches if you wish to purchase one.

Everton Fun Day - Sat 9th June

    Everton Fun Run
Many thanks to Stuart and all members of Biggleswade AC who helped with the Everton Fun Run on 9th June.  It was a great success with nearly 70 runners taking part in the 3 mile run and 1 mile kiddies race.  Congratulations to Biggleswade AC members Debs Bryant, Tom Stead and Alice Hurden who all won individual trophies.

    5-a-side Football
Fans packed onto the Everton playing fields to witness the return of Biggleswade AC's five-a-side football team after last years exit in the final.  Even Biggs FM got in to the mood and dedicated 'We are the champions' to the lads over the air waves prior to the kick off.  The talent this year was so vast they were divided into two teams: Biggleswade AC "A", captained by Tim "The Cat" Huxtable, and Biggleswade AC "B", captained by "Kick'um hard" Gavin.  They all looked really dashing in their new kits.

The tournament started slowly for both teams unfortunately, being beat in their first games but as the day grew hotter and the tackles went in harder they soon found their stride and the back of the oppositions net.  Colin showed great composure on the ball while Vince and Robin showed gritty determination in defence.  Tim (for A) and Andrew (for B) also showed heroics in goal, and Gavin and Lins both found their form and slotted the goals home bringing the crowd to their feet.  If it wasn't for some poor refereeing and the fact that the other teams were slightly better than them both teams would have made it to the final, but they were halted at the semi final stage, team A in a nail biting penalty shoot out.

    BIGGLESWADE AC "A"
Tim Huxtable (GK) (C) - The Cat - he pounced on everything
Steve - Showed speed and grace, and Mark Harris a clean pair of heels
Robin - Nothing got past him
Lins Morgan - Leading goal scorer, and well deserved
Rob - Some great threw balls

    BIGGLESWADE AC "B"
Colin Harries - Showed superb skill on the ball
Vince - A wall at the back
Andrew Deans (GK) - A brilliant shot stopper
Gav Elliott (C) - Most people felt his force, on the backs of their ankles.
Tim - A man mountain up front

Kingfisher Way - Sun 15 Jul

For those new to the club, we run the Kingfisher Way footpath (21 miles from Baldock to Tempsford along the river Ivel) twice a year, in summer and winter.  For those who would like to run a short section of the route (e.g. Biggleswade to Tempsford 8 miles or Sandy to Tempsford 4 miles) we can arrange for you to join us as we pass through.  Please see the web site Forum for more details or contact Nigel - Tel: 01757 682251.

Biggleswade AC Club Tour Fri 5th to Mon 8th October 2007

There are now 23 people booked to go on the trip to the Derbyshire Peak District.  We are staying in four well appointed cottages at Darwin Lakes near Matlock in Derbyshire (see http://www.darwinlake.co.uk).

Biggleswade AC Pick Up Top Award for Carnival

On Saturday 30th August Biggleswade AC once again showed they could turn their hand(s) to anything.  This time on the road.......well carrying a large bit of it.  Nearly twenty members of the club including Alistair Burt and many juniors turned out to represent us in the Biggleswade carnival parade.  They picked up 1st Prize in the "Walking Section" of the carnival and were awarded a cup and certificate.  Thanks must go to all that helped make and CARRY the creation on the day.  Well done everyone - bring on 2008!
