Newsletter changes and a healthy breakfast

As mentioned in the AGM report below, there are likely to be some changes in the Newsletter in the coming months. To allow your editor to reclaim some of his life, the print version of the Newsletter will soon (he hopes!) be taken over by somebody else, and will possibly be developed in other directions - the committee will be considering this.

Meanwhile, the on-line Newsletter will continue for the time being in much the same form, but your editor may try to make it more print-friendly for those of you who print the on-line version.

In another move, your editor is hoping to create a related area of the website, middle-distance,.at www.biggleswadeac.org.uk/newsletter/middle-distance, being a collection of advice, reminiscences, and other musings, some of which may have previously appeared in the Club newsletter. It will take some time to collect the items, pretty it up and properly incorporate it into the Club website, but in the meantime we are starting with A Healthy Breakfast by Stuart Galloway:
"I am a firm believer in the maxim - "you are what you eat".  Over the past 5 years or so I have read a lot about the benefits of fruit, nuts, and seeds, and as a result came up with a breakfast mixture which would seem to have beneficial health properties..."

    Club Tour 2009

With Spring almost upon us it is time to start thinking about this Year's CLUB TOUR.  Comments received from last year's 37 participants suggest that a return to Darwin Lakes in the Peak District is a firm favourite, probably in early October.  If you have not been on a Club Tour before, but would like to know more about the weekend format and activities, please contact Nigel.  And if you have any suggestions for an alternative destination, please get in contact.

    Annual Subscriptions

If you haven't renewed your subscription, please read this again in last month's newsletter.

    Sandy 10 - Sun 29 Mar

With over 300 entries already received for this year's race, we expect another bumper entry come race day.  Thank you to everyone who has added their name to our Web Site Forum thread, offering help on the day with course marshalling, car parking, etc.  Nearer race day we will contact you all to let you know your duties.

We still need some more helpers, so please add your name to the web site or contact Nigel or Gav if you are able to help.  No former experience is necessary and it is a very rewarding day!  This year's race includes the Beds County 10 Mile championship and we have been asked to assist with taking the Beds County entries and processing the County results, so if you prefer a "warm inside" job please let us know.
