EYAL Watford, 20th August
An absolutely abysmal turn-out for this last fixture ensured that Biggleswade were destined to finish last before we even started. Just three juniors turned out for the Club and deserve apologies from the rest of our members.

Great Barford ByPass Challenge 10k 20th August
This was a well organised run on the new Gt Barford Bypass - before it opened to traffic! The first 5k felt good, being slightly down hill with a strong tail wind. The 5k back in the opposite direction was a different story!

Eastern Counties Intercounties Sandy, 3rd Sept
In this event 8 athletes were selected but only 6 took up the invitation. Craig Morse in the Sen Mens 400 m came home in very blustery conditions in 3rd, but was a winner in the B string Triple Jump with a PB. Craig also competed in the Triple Jump and won the B string for Bedfordshire with 12.85 m which is a club and age related record.
Craig also ran in both relays the 4 x 400 m where he helped Bedfordshire finish in 3rd place but in the 4 x 100 m they were victorious with Zack Morrison also running in both relays. Zack led off the 4 x 100 m relay and gave to Craig where on the changeover to 3rd were neck and neck with Norfolk with the rest following in their wake. In the 4 x 400 m Zack was 3rd leg with Craig 2nd. Zack also competed in the High Jump where he finished 2nd in the A string.
Andy Sadler competed in his first county match and was 3rd in the Javelin B string. The competition also had the UK Challenge winner for Javelin representing Hertfordshire.
In the Senior Womens events Alice Middleton ran in both the 800 m and 400 m and in the very windy conditions came home 3rd in both cases. Alice was also a member of the 4 x 100m quartet that came home with the baton in first place for Bedfordshire.
In the U17 Mens competition we had Matt Glass in the High Jump where he equalled the club record and Matt also competed in the Pole Vault where Adam Humphries shattered the club record with 3.30 m and Matt was just behind with 3.10 m which also beat the previous record. Both Matt and Adam were 3rd in the Pole Vault A and B.
Our athletes helped Bedfordshire for 3rd place in the Sen Mens cup, this was matched in the U17 Mens event, and in the Senior Womens event Bedfordshire was 4th from the 7 counties.
Watford 6 Sep
Alice Middleton went to Watford to attempt to beat her pb and club record in the 400 m. Preparation wasn't at its best and Alice just missed out by just over 1/2 second. There is always next time!!
