Biggleswade jumpers head over to Peterborough for PANVAC Jumps Open

A small cohort of Biggleswade AC athletes headed over to Peterborough to attend the PANVAC Jumps open. The weather, which had been hot and sunny in the prior days turned cloudy, cold and windy but didn't dampen spirits. While no personal bests or performance highlights took place one positive from veteran athlete Darren Janssen was a return from an ankle injury back into jumping.

"I hurt my ankle last July when I fell on a hurdle. As I landed to try and break my fall I bent my foot back. The injury was only minor and I was able to carry on competing but had some pain for several months when I had a large impact of pressure that dorsiflexed by right foot. For the most part I could go about doing activities and events with no issues. That was all true except for long jump. Landing in the pit really hurt my ankle. I was able to complete several warm up jumps today, including 6 competition jumps, and although the performance was far from good being able to do that pain free was an amazing feeling".
