Officials are at the heart of each athletics event, measuring and recording the performances of each athlete while ensuring the rules of the competition are adhered to.  Officiating is broken into specific disciplines with varying levels of qualification.

Not all officials at an athletics competition or event are technical in nature.  We have a need for non-technical staff to support the running of the event.  Types of non-technical roles include:

• Announcer
• Athlete Registration
• Warm Up/Call Room Support
• Car Park Attendant

These can be rewarding but do not require a specific understanding of event rules or carry a qualifications track.

Whether you want to lend a hand occasionally or if you have a passion to become a qualified expert coach in a specific discipline, we are always keen for new club coaches.  As a starting point, coaches often start as unqualified volunteers assisting one of our qualified coaches either in track and field, or endurance running sessions.

This gives a great insight into coaching before considering taking the next step to getting qualified.

All of our coaches who work with young or vulnerable people are required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check before being able to assist.  This is to protect our vulnerable members, and is something we can arrange for you.

If you have an organisational mindset and have time in the evenings to spare, then a position on the management committee of the club might be for you.  We have a number of specific fuctional roles as well as non-functional member positions for people who are happy to help organising events, training sessions or awards evenings.

Specific training or knowledge is not required for many of the roles, although some do require specific skillsets or prior experience.

We always have a need for support from the wider community with activities that are not specifically tied to athletics, whether it's running the food and drink stall at home events, assisting with grounds maintenance, or equipment repair.  We always need a helping hand with areas of club matters that don't require a specific interest in the operational side of the club.  Specific areas we are interested in recruiting for at the moment include:
