On Sunday 14th April five Biggleswade AC members took on the challenge of the Flitwick 10k. This popular, local race takes competitors through the streets of Flitwick then out on to quiet country roads and into nearby Steppingley before returning back to Flitwick. First home for Biggleswade was Abbie Higgins in a time of 46:21 followed by Jackie Warren in 60:50. Rachel Fairhurst had an excellent run shaving off nearly 2 and 1/2 minutes on her previous PB with a time of 69:02 and well over 3 minutes off her time from October last year at the Standalone 10k. Whilst husband and wife, Simon and Bev Strong ran 65:19 and 70:26, respectively. Bev will shortly be taking on the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge in early May as a member of Team Daisy raising money for the new bereavement suite at Northampton General Hospital for those who have suffered baby loss. For Bev, Flitwick 10k formed part of her training towards the IoW Challenge which will see her tackle a 26k stage of the undulating course around the island. We wish Bev well for her Challenge and high five to everyone for Flitwick!
