Junior Presentation Evening

Junior Presentation Evening

The fine efforts of BAC’s younger athletes over the last 12 months – in both competition and training – were showcased at a Junior Presentation Evening held at Sandy Conservative Club on Friday March 22.

Awards and certificates recognising a wide range of achievements in both track & field and cross country were presented to Junior members in the U-11 to U-17 age groups. Categories included Club Junior Track & Field Champions, Club Age Group Champions, New Club Records, England Athletics PB Awards and Cross Country.

In addition, there were three special awards:

Teagan Blake Award for Junior Member of the Year: Donncha Blake.

Sonia Brown Dedication Award: Oscar Findon.

Perseverance Award: Ted Islip.

The efforts of BAC’s youngest members were also recognised, with a dozen athletes being awarded Little Bees Certificates of Achievement.

The evening also saw awards made to two key figures in the Juniors’ coaching team. Sandra Ingham was presented with her senior awards and a special award to recognise her amazing achievement in winning the Javelin event at the British Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Derby last September. David Brown received an award as club 60+ Veteran Track & Field champion.

BAC Chair Amanda Trudgill commented: “The evening went smoothly. The presentations took a while but that just goes to show how brilliantly our athletes are competing and improving.”

She also put on record “my sincerest thanks and gratitude to Carol Brunning, Niamh Blake, Louise Cant and Isabel Eberlein for all their hard work and BAC commitment for both the rooms decorations and the buffet”. “Without them, the evening would not have taken place.”

  • Full details of all the awards and certificates presented at the event will be published in the March edition of BAC’s Junior Newsletter.
