Raining BAC medals at the Eastern Athletics Championships!
BAC athletes splashed their way through some heavy rain at this year’s outdoor Eastern Athletics Championships to come away with 16 medals, two new club records and four PBs.
The BAC medals breakdown from the annual Eastern Athletic Association track and field championships, held at the Cambridge University Track on Saturday July 19, was eight golds, six silvers and two bronzes. Several athletes multi-medalled, notably Leonie Brunning with two golds and a silver; Nathania Lewis with two golds and a bronze; and Orlagh Brunning with one gold and two silvers. Leonie Brunning: Sen W high jump and shot put
Nathania Lewis: U-13G 100m (in 13.13, a new club record and PB) and 200m
Orlagh Brunning: U-20W high jump
Arlo Treece: U-20M javelin
Donncha Blake: U-20M PV
Oran Blake: U-17M hammer
Silver
Orlagh Brunning: U-20W shot put and discus
Lauren Bone: U-15G 1500m (in 5:00.21, a new club record and PB)
George Hardy: U-20M 400m (in 50.21, a new PB)
Hannah Brunning: Sen W discus
Leonie Brunning: Sen W hammer
Bronze
Nathania Lewis: U-13G long jump
Sureyya Akay: U-17W 300m
In addition to the medal winners, there was also a notable performance by Ross Bone in the U-13B 800m, notching a new PB of 2:31.71 as he finished 6th of the 12 runners.
