Three new club records and PBs galore at Biggleswade Track Fest

BAC athletes broke three club records and achieved 27 new or first PBs at this year’s Biggleswade Track Fest.

Around 30 BAC junior and senior members entered the event, held at our Sandy track on Wednesday evening, April 23, helping to boost the total number of entries to over 100, a new record.

The new club records on the track were set by Oliver Weddell for the U-17M 3,000m with a time of 9.25.10 (beating the previous record by nearly 18 secs); Nathania Lewis in the U-13G 200m with a time of 27.7 (beating her own previous record of 27.81); and Richard Bevan, M-40, with a new club best veterans time for the 10,000m, 37.16.40, which also saw him become the Bedfordshire senior champion over that distance.

Other notable BAC performances included Freddie Steele, U-20M, storming home to win the 100m A race in 11.00 and the 200m A race in 2.40; Henry Knox, U-17M, winning the 800m A race in 2.08.4; and Alim Aydin, U-17M, winning the 100m B race in 12.00 to equal his PB.
